Examples of Our Work

Professors from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia collaborated with Port Forty Nine to develop an online business simulation for sales managers in the pharmaceutical industry. Used by top pharmaceutical companies, the Sales Management Research and Training Simulation (SMRTS) is experiential, not predictive, and has been proven to be an effective enhancement to sales management training programs. Port Forty Nine develops, owns, and administers SMRTS with the assistance of channel partners. Technical challenges include creating a system of virtual sales representative personality profiles that reflects the desired behavior models.
Seso Media Group chose Port Forty Nine to take an Alpha version of ideablob.com, a groundbreaking project of Advanta Corporation, and guide it into Beta and then live deployment. As tech lead for Seso's multinational team of developers, Port Forty Nine guided the technical development and helped engineer this award-winning social networking portal. Technical challenges include high performance database calculations, advanced AJAX and Flash interface integration, and very high traffic (ideablob.com was mentioned on FoxNews, advertised in Time Square, and featured on YouTube's home page.) [After many successful months in Beta, ideablob.com was turned over to a larger Ruby on Rails maintenance provider and Port Forty Nine is no longer affiliated with this project.]
Seso Media Group chose Port Forty Nine to develop a content management application for OvationTV, the only national cable channel dedicated to Fine Arts (and the best channel on television.) Port Forty Nine took XHTML, CSS, and Flash designed by Seso's in-house graphics team and integrated it into a custom application that serves up the ovationtv.com web site. This allows OvationTV to provide dynamic content from multiple sources in a presentation complimentary to their television lineup and promotional campaign. Technical challenges include coordination with third-party data sources such as the program schedule, advanced AJAX and Flash interface integration, and integration with the KickApps framework for streaming video and other multimedia content.
